Excellent facsimile print of one of the most remarkable plates from The Temple of Flora by Robert John Thornton 1799. This image was painted by Philip Reinagle and engraved by Earlom. This was the first flower prints with landscape backgrounds, depicting the natural habitat of the plant. ‘To the naked eye, our artworks are virtually indistinguisable from the originals when glazed and framed’ (Heritage). One of only 250 numbered copies, on the reverse side numbered and with the blind-stamp.
