The members of the House of Orleans, have been, for the most part, important collectors. Gaston d’Orleans (1608 – 1660), the brother of Louis XIII, has collected a great number of cameos by the painter Pierre Paul Rubens. The collection is nowadays in the National Library of France. – A second volume was published in 1784. – Book Block lossened, spine damaged, binding rubbed, inside mostly fine.
