Post-World-War I poetic work by the Belgian writer and avantgarde figure Paul Dermée, associated with Dadaist and Modernist circles. Publsihed by ‘L’Esprit Nouveau’, the influencial modernist review foundet by Le Corbusier and Amédée Ozenfant, this volume reflects the intellectual and aesthetic spirit of early 20th Century Paris. With the typical cubistic illustrations by Juan Gris, one the leading artists along-side Picasso and Braque. This is a genuine collaboration between visual art and avantgarde peotry. The abstract, geometric motif reflects Gris’s cubist language using flat-planes, stylized shapes and bold symmetry.
