Gaertner, Ed(uard) – Prosit Neujahr (Happy New Year) 1924.

Impressive small aquatint in lively colours. Mounted on cardboard, below two-line signed dedication. Eduard Gaertner (1903-1983) studiied at the Veinnese Art Institut and also at the Städel in Frankfurt. He was quite influential in the Viennese arts-cene, a member of the Hagenbund and from 1960 from the Viennese Secession. He was also famous for his illustration of the works of E.T.A.Hoffmann.
