Privatly compiled family album over a period of almost 30 years, most likely from an Austrian family who lived in Warnstorf, former Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy (now Czech Republik), who immegrated to America in the beginning of the 20th Century. The family, parents and three daughters, lived in the beginning ca. 1909, in Ottawa, Quebec, Canada. The first part of the pictures show the three daughters, Lilly, Lotte and Mary, when they were little, with her mother Poldi and the father Gustav. There ae also pictures from the main street in Ottawa East, the new Hotel in Ottawa, the house where they lived in Ottawa, the kitchen in Ottawa and Warnstorf. Maybe the father Gustav was a printer and bookbinder, one picture show him in his factory and one picture shows the burned down printing factory. Other pictures of Ottawa show the new railway station, Durmmondstreet, Bankstreet, a new way of constructing houses, skyscraper constructions, the Parlament and Parlaments Library, waterfalls, a paper factory, Brittania Bay and neighbourhouds on the westend of Ottawa, the Rideau Canal, some pictures of cars etc. The next place where the family lived was Akron in Ohio, from there are only a few pictures of their home, making a picknick, some landcape-pictures and of course of the three girls and their mother. The final documented station of the family was Chicago, the pictures show the different houses where they lived, Lawndale Ave, Hamilton Ave and finaly 1928 in Kilbourn Ave., the pictures show Michigan Blvd., Garfield Park, the busiest street in Chicago, the girls listening to the radio, talking on telephon, are iceskating. One picture of 1923 show the three girls Lilly 14, Lotti 12 and Mary 11. Some pictures of the surroundings of Chicago, different cars etc. All pictures wih notes in pencil below. – The pictures are made with an amateur camery in different sizes, and pasted on stiff cardboard. Some cardboards at the right margin with finger prints, the album a bit loosened. – Interesting documentary of an immegrant family to the USA in the beginnig of the 20th Century.
