Érotisme – Année galante ou Etrenne a l’Amour.

Ces vignettes sont assez bien faites… (Gay-L. I, 227). For each month there is an erotic engraving, below a coresponding poem, also engraved, printed on thin Japan. Inside the front board a mounted erotic engraved plate “Quartier Bonne Nouvelle”. – Obviously privatly composed copy, which only contains the plates, refering to Gay-L there are 41 leaves of text to the book, “…mais les contes eux-mèmes sont très plats, et il n’pas un digne d’ètre conservé” (Gay-L.). Seems that the owner thought so too, and has only bound the plates together, which are here complete. Also like this rare.
