Ferdinand Leeke (born April 7, 1859 in Burg near Magdeburg; died November 16, 1937 in Nuremberg) was a German painter. – Ferdinand Leeke studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1881[1] under Ludwig von Herterich (1856\u20131932) and Alexander (S\u00e1ndor) von Liezen-Mayer (1839\u20131898). His main work is a series of paintings depicting scenes from Richard Wagner’s operas, created between 1889 and 1898 on commission from composer Siegfried Wagner (1869\u20131930), the third son of Richard Wagner (1813\u20131883).
