Karl Bogislaus Reichert is famous for his pioneer research on cyclo theory. Together with Ernst Gaupp he was co-architect of the Reichert-Gaupp theory. The present work, in which he investigates the ear of mammels, complex organs of preception, give a detailed knowledge about anatomy and morphology of the ears. The Reichert-Gaupp theory  were the background for the studies on the huma ear. &#8211; &#8222;First description of the visceral arches in vertebrates&#8220; (Garrison\/Morton 482).
